We are pleased to announce that MK Panorama Syteme has launched a second quality motor drive into the world market, the MK ScanMachine.
This is a precision drive that allows you to take multiple exposures along a lateral axis, making it an important tool in the production of:
Time-lapse photography
Ideal for this captivating field of photography and video, the MK ScanMachine travels a predefined path during a given time, taking images or video as you require. When combined with the MK PanoMachine, linear, vertical and horizontal turning allows for new and exciting possibilities.
Stereo photography
With its fast and precise high-speed rail system, the MK ScanMachine allows for the development of stereographic (three-dimensional) images.
Lenticular photography
Since the MK ScanMachine operates very quickly, the creation of multiple images is possible, offering new possibilities not only in the photography of objects, but also in studio portraits, the development of holographic images for security purposes (such as ID cards for clubs, companies, etc.).
Other uses may include the design of 3D posters, stationery, promotional items etc., without the need for special 3D glasses.
Controlled by a microprocessor, the MK ScanMachine can be programmed to precisely adjust your camera's position on a fixed rail by up to a maximum 10 metres, whilst triggering your shutter from between two and five thousand times. Fully programmable, the camera's movements, firing position and the interval between exposures can be set to your requirements.
Specification
- The speed MK ScanMachine can be varied from 8 seconds per meter to 600, providing you with between 2 and 5000 individual exposures
- The lateral distance you require the MK ScanMachine to travel, its direction, acceleration and motor power are fully programmable
- The distance between any two images can be as little as 0,05 millimetre (timelapse mode)
- Its timer can be regulated to best suite your projects' individual requirements, providing you control over such features as

All these may be set in milliseconds, seconds, minutes or hours
When shooting, several modes are available:

|
Stop and Shoot mode, where the camera is moved to a new position and rests whilst the shutter is released. |
|
|
Continuous mode, the MK ScanMachine moves continuously and triggers position exactly (without stopping). It is obvious that this mode requires a higher shutter speed to prevent blur due to motion. |
|
|
High Speed mode, to use this mode, it is necessary to adjust the camera in burst mode. The camera moves during the shoot. The number of pictures depends on the selected speed and frequency of shooting in burst mode on your camera. |
|
|
Timelapse mode is similar to Stop & Shoot Mode but you can specify a precise value of time between two triggering of the camera. In this mode, the speed is low to get for the maximum precision between two pictures (about 0.05 mm). |
|
|
Calibrate mode allows the machine to measure the length of the used rail. This is necessary if you change the length of the rail since the last calibration. |
|
|
Reset, which returns the device to its default settings. |
Features
With the use of a synchronisation cable, the MK ScanMachine may be used in tandem with our revolutionary MK PanoMachine, expanding its potential in new and exciting ways, by allowing the lateral rotation of your camera as it travels the length of the rail. This provides the possibility of creating stunning time-lapse HD videos with ease.

The MK ScanMachine is lightweight, easy to assemble and transport, the MK ScanMachine can be fixed to two tripods, one at each end of its length, and when using 2m metre rail.
The rails can vary in length from 60cm (macrophotography) to 10m. The MK ScanMachine can run a calibration program to automatically determine the length of the rail.
To enable proper framing of the subject, function keys are provided to move the camera to the left, right and centre positions of the rails.
The MK ScanMachine will run on 8 AA alkaline, NiMH or lithium-ion batteries, or can be powered with an external 12-volt (1A) transformer.
All functions can be controlled by an ir remote control (included).
A jack plug is available to trigger the MK ScanMachine with a single cable release (supplied), remote control or any similar system.
Any camera that has an external release trigger may be used with the MK ScanMachine (please specify the connector required when ordering).
